What is Outrigger Canoeing?

Outrigger canoe paddling was introduced to Australia from Hawaii in 1978.

Australia has over 60 outrigger canoe clubs, the majority situated along the Queensland coast.

An outrigger canoe is a long narrow canoe that seats 6 people. It has a flotation device (the outrigger or ama) attached to one side by spars (iakos). The ama provides stability for the canoe in choppy water. Paddlers propel the canoes using single bladed paddles

The Outrigger Corporate Challenge!

The Panamuna corporate challenge is a fun event aimed at introducing new people to this exciting sport. By offering a challenge with friends or work associates, this also provides an excellent opportunity to enhance team skills and team bonding.
